Description
I am Alessandro Fendillo, I was born in Cremona in 1989.
In 2003 I attended the International School of Violing making in Cremona.
During the school courses I started studying strings instruments, instruments construction and instruments restorations, especially of violins, violas and cellos. During the school years I met different teachers who helped me to learn different working and construction methods. I started off with M° Giorgio Cè, then with M° Luca Bellini and during the fourth year I attended the restoration course in order learn the basics of the restoration itself and the routine maintenance of important musical ancient instruments, under the vision of M° Alessandro Voltini.
In 2008, after having graduated, I started an apprenticeship at M° Stefano Conia’s well known workshop, where I made and repaired my first musical instrument outside the school environment.
At the end of 2009 I moved to M° Luca Bellini’s workshop, where I began to find my own personality on a stylistic level, trying to hone the sound of my Instrument.
Today, I make violins on classic models of the late 600’ and first years of 700’, from Cremona, such as Amati, Stradivari and Guarnieri.
I also put particular attention on the classical Italian violins of the first years of the XX century, such as Ornati and Garimberti.
In 2012, I opened my own workshop in Via del Giordano 121, Cremona.
In 2012 I also joined the Italian Violin Making Association (A.L.I). With the association I actively participated at the most important fairs of the String Musical Instrument, such as the Japan String Instrument Makers Association (JSIMA) fair and the A.L.I Filodrammatici exhibition in Cremona.
I also participated at the XIV “Triennale” in Cremona, Pechino and Arvenzis Competition.
