Gerhard Schoepp - Oak Autumn Cutaway "Smoky" (2020) (sold)

This guitar features local wood only! Very light & responsive. Matt oil finish on the back & sides, very thin glossy polyurethane on the top.
The back and sides are chemically treated oak, that is how it acme to have that beautiful dark chocolate colour.
Did you know that laburnum, which is the wood used for this fretboard and bridge, is called "Goldregen" in german? It translates to "golden rain", referring to the beautiful yellow flowers you may have seen in springtime in many parks and gardens. Laburnum usually grows as a bush, so it is really hard to find a piece of wood that is large enough to make guitarparts out of it. Rare!
