Jack Spira

I am a steel string guitar maker, working in Australia since 1991. Before then I was in London and did my training at the London college of furniture in the late 1980's.

I'm now based in Gippsland, in eastern Victoria. Here grow many Blackwood (acacia melanoxylon) and Lightwood (acacia implexa) which I love to use for making instruments.

I specialise in flat top steel string instruments, mainly guitar and bouzouki, and an occasional mandolin.

I mostly make to order, but try to have something available to buy if possible, which I will list here.
I can also be found at folk festivals and guitar shows around Victoria, along with many other great local instrument makers.
