Luthier | Alfredo Lerma | Lutemaker

Alfredo nace en Buenos Aires el 18 de Junio de 1975.

Graduado de Técnico Mecánico en 1993, se establece en la Capital Federal, trabajando en Areas de Diseño, Producción, Implementación y Certificación de Sistemas de Gestión de la Calidad (ISO 9000), Seguridad Industrial y Medioambiente (ISO 14000) para industrias Electrónicas, Automotrices y Navieras.

En el año 2003 se diploma en Psicología Social, realizando proyectos destinados a la integración y reinsersión social de poblaciones vulnerables, trabajando en instituciones públicas y privadas.

La Construcción Artesanal de Instrumentos Musicales comienza en 2008, guiado por Darío Lo Bosco. Motivado por este primer acercamiento, inicia un Curso de Restauración con Diego Mena (realizando luego las prácticas en su taller durante 3 años) y en 2012 se inicia en la Construcción de Laúdes y Guitarras Antiguas con Sebastián Núñez.

Inaugura su Atelier de Boedo en 2013 ofreciendo la venta de maderas, herramientas e instrumentos a coleccionistas, colegas, cesionistas, docentes, estudiantes de música, integrantes de orquestas y conjuntos de cámara.

Allí también organiza los «Laboratorios de Luthería en BA» coordinando los encuentros con Mauro Cura, María Machado, Ariel Ameijenda y Florencia Centurión.

Inspirado por la elegancia de los instrumentos históricos, se suma a la Asociación Argentina de Laúdes y Guitarras Antiguas – AALGA – donde se desempeñará como «Secretario» durante 3 temporadas consecutivas (2016/17/18), integrando su Comisión Directiva en la actualidad.

Construyendo sus primeros Laúdes, Violines y Guitarras, obtiene el premió del Fondo Nacional de las Artes – FNA Argentina 2017 – en la Categoría Artesanía, por el proyecto “Bicentenario de Antonio de Torres Jurado, Padre de la Guitarra Española” y complementa sus investigaciones entrenándose en la «Ebanistería de Autor» con Germán Plessl.

Cumpliendo su primera década en el oficio, expone sus instrumentos en la Escuela de Música -Facultad de Artes – UDELAR durante el “Primer Festival de Laúdes y Guitarras Históricas de Montevideo” y brinda un «Workshop de Mantenimiento de instrumentos para Músicos» en el IUPA – Instituto Universitario Patagónico de las Artes – celebrándose el “XII Festival AALGA” en la sede de Río Negro.

Desde Junio de 2019 se encuentra establecido en la Ciudad de Montevideo, donde trabaja en Mantenimiento de Teclados Históricos – dirigido por Marianne Pérez Robledo, celebra un convenio con la Asociación Uruguaya de Músicos – AUDEM, brinda Cursos de Luthería y atiende los Instrumentos de intérpretes locales y extranjeros.

Alfredo was born in Buenos Aires on June 18, 1975.

Graduated as a Mechanical Technician in 1993, he settled in the Federal Capital, working in the Areas of Design, Production, Implementation and Certification of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9000), Industrial Safety and Environment (ISO 14000) for industries El electronics, automotive and shipping companies.

In 2003 he graduated in Social Psychology, carrying out projects aimed at the integration and social reintegration of vulnerable populations, working in public and private institutions .

The Artisanal Construction of Musical Instruments begins in 2008, guided by Darío Lo Bosco. Motivated by this first approach, he started a Restoration Course with Diego Mena (later doing internships in his workshop for 3 years) and  in 2012 he started building Lutes and Antique Guitars with Sebastián Núñez.

He inaugurates his Atelier de Boedo in 2013 offering the sale of wood, tools and instruments to  collectors, colleagues, transferors, teachers, music students, members of orchestras and chamber ensembles.

There he also organizes the "Luthería Laboratories in BA" coordinating meetings with Mauro Cura, María Machado, Ariel Ameijenda and Florencia Centurión.

Inspired by the elegance of historical instruments, he joins the Argentine Association of Lutes and Antique Guitars - AALGA - where he will serve as "Secretary" for 3 consecutive seasons (2016/17/18), currently integrating its Board of Directors. .

Building his first Lutes, Violins and Guitars, he obtained the award from the National Endowment for the Arts - FNA Argentina 2017 - in the Crafts Category, for the project "Bicentennial of Antonio de Torres Jurado, Father of the Spanish Guitar" and complements his research by training in the "Signature Cabinetry" with Germán Plessl.

Celebrating his first decade in the trade, he exhibits his instruments at the School of Music - Faculty of Arts - UDELAR during the "First Festival of Lutes and Historical Guitars of Montevideo" and offers an "Instrument Maintenance Workshop for Musicians" at the IUPA – Patagonian University Institute of the Arts – celebrating the “XII AALGA Festival” at the Río Negro headquarters.

Since June 2019, he has been established in the City of Montevideo, where he works in Maintenance of Historical Keyboards - directed by Marianne Pérez Robledo, celebrates an agreement with the Uruguayan Association of Musicians - AUDEM, provides Luthería  Courses and attends to the Instruments for local and foreign interpreters.
