Description of this instrument for sale

This is a handmade CTrietsch Ukuleles tenor sized ukulele completed in 2020, and built on Long Island, New York. The luthier, Christopher Trietsch, is an avid ukulele player who writes, records, and performs original instrumental music on his own handmade ukuleles. All of his experience as a musician and recording artist informs his building so that he truly understands how to craft high quality ukuleles. In each build, he captures superior tone and depth of sound, building ukuleles that are a joy to play and hold in your hands.

This tenor ukulele is crafted from solid tone woods: aged Cherry for the soundboard, back, sides, and neck. The set of cherry used for this ukulele is special because it was locally sourced on the north shore of Long Island - recovered from storm downed trees. It was processed (quarter sawn), stickered, and aged in our shop for 25+ years before being selected and used for this ukulele. The wood therefore has a distinctly American Northeast (New England area) history, and this ukulele was born a New Yorker.

Cherry is an excellent tone wood, and this will become your go to ukulele for any style of playing: it is comfortable to hold and has a bright, responsive voice. The 12’ radius on the fingerboard and thin neck enhances player comfort - especially on those difficult to hold bar chords - and improves fretting accuracy resulting in a good, consistent tone while playing. The headstock is shaped in a “bell top” design and the maple binding along the body and fingerboard elegantly contrasts the deeper brown figuring of the cherry. This is an ukulele that you are NOT going to want to put down once you pick it up.

*I do have a similar model in lacy Sycamore with a beautiful neck that boasts the golden glow of end grain sycamore available at the same price as this cherry ukulele. Both ukuleles have similar features in different woods. Please message me if you are interested and I can send you the full description, specs, pictures, and sound sample for the Sycamore ukulele*
