Description

I discovered the amazing world of woodcarving and violin makers in 1993. I started to learn little by little from Paolo Vitorio, one of the best experts in Bulgaria and Italy. Later I collaborated with some other Italian and American masters who gave me the opportunity to learn and gain experience. I continued to specialize in the art of violin making, taking part in several competitions in Italy, USA, France and participating in many exhibitions in Bulgaria, Italy, Germany and USA.

In keeping with the tradition of the old Italian masters I work with materials from the local Balkan woodland – spruce (Picea excelsa) and sycamore. They have been felled on the Bulgarian mountain range Rhodope, at an elevation of 1800 m. above sea level and have excellent structure and acoustical qualities. Each component of my instruments including the varnish are hand-made.

I’m making fine stringed musical instruments, masters and orchestral class – violins, violas and cellos – suitable for professional musicians or conservatory students. All the instruments are made of high-grade wood material with excellent acoustical qualities.

Repair & Fine Acoustic Adjustments
I can also repair or restore fine stringed instruments and also give them a new life through fine acoustic adjustments.

Over the years I’ve been working very hard to improve the sonic qualities of my instruments and make them powerful enough to bright in a big concert hall. Through fine acoustic adjustments, I can improve the strength, density and volume of the sound, the overtone range of each string, make the strings sound in all positions and improve the projection of the entire instrument. These qualities greatly enhance the beauty of the sound, make it more noble and develop over time.
