How to create my account?

First, you have to register

It’s very simple ๐Ÿ˜‰

Click on the word Register at the top right of the screen (just left of the Add you page button). A new page will appear allowing you to enter information to create your account.

First Name, Last Name, Email & Password are required fields to create your account. Note that your email and password will then allow you to connect to your personal space.

Your Display Name is not required to create your account, but we advise you to put one. Because, it will be used later for new features that are not yet online but already exist, such as chat, private messaging, etc… These features will be available a little later, when the Luthiers.com family will have grown up ๐Ÿ˜‰

About Yourself is also not required. It is an area that allows Luthiers.com to know if you are a professional or a private individual passionate about the world of luthiers.

Secondly, you have to validate your registration

Congratulations! If you are at this stage, you have successfully created your account on Luthiers.com.

You must now validate your registration.

To do so, it’s very simple. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Your name now appears at the top right of your screen. Hover over your name and a small menu will appear. Click on the word Dashboard.

At this moment, a pop-up window has just warned you that an email has been sent to you.

Don’t forget to add to your contacts the address contact@luthiers.com because otherwise our emails will arrive in your spam box.

In this email that follows the creation of your account, you will be invited to enter a 4-digit code or click on a link to validate the creation of your account.

It will be necessary to add us to your contacts so that you receive all our emails.

Does a single account on Luthiers.com allow me to have several different pages?

Yes, of course, and it is even strongly advised to use only one account.

Your account will allow you to create as many personal pages as you need.

For example, you can have a Luthiers Profile page and 10 instrument for sale pages. Or, another example, you can imagine that a luthier who makes double basses wants to appear in the Plucked String listing and also in the Bowed String listing. Since the double bass can be played both in plucked and bowed strings. In this case, he will create two distinct pages, each one in the listing in which he wants to appear.

The advantage of having only one login account, is that you will be able to consult all your pages at once in a single personal area (Dashboard). And thus, manage them, see the statistics of consultations, in the same unique dashboard.

We therefore advise you not to create several accounts. One will be enough for you! ๐Ÿ˜‰

How many pages can I create?

As many as you need. ๐Ÿ˜‰

How do I add other pages?

You only have to connect to your account on Luthiers.com and click on the ADD YOUR PAGE button on the top right of the Homepage.

Exactly like when you created your first page. ๐Ÿ˜‰

You will be able to consult all your pages at once in a single personal area (Dashboard). And thus, manage them, see the statistics of consultations, in the same unique dashboard.

Can my personal page appear in two different listings?

You can have several pages in different listing.

To do so, you just have to be connected on Luthiers.com, to click on the ADD YOUR PAGE button and to select a new listing.

For example a luthier who makes guitars & amps can have 1 page in the Plucked string listing for guitars and a 2nd page in the Amps, Effects & Accessories listing for his amps.

Another example, a luthier who make Double Bass can have both pages in Plucked string and Bowed string listings.

Note that your page cannot be duplicate and that you have to create a new one.

NB: do not create another account, create all the pages you need with your unique account. ๐Ÿ˜‰

How can I link my instruments for sale pages to my profile page… and vice versa? And why is this necessary?

It’s very simple, once again ๐Ÿ˜‰

At the bottom of your instrument for sale page creation form, you have a powerful tool called “Related Pages (Profile & Instruments For Sale)” that allows you to link your pages together.

Thanks to this feature! You can show links to all your other pages on Luthiers.com: your different personal pages as Luthier, Amps & Effects Maker, etc… and, also, your other Instruments For Sale pages if you have more than one for sale.

This tool is also available at the bottom of your profile page creation form (Plucked, Bowed, etc…). So you will also be able to display links to all your pages of instruments for sale directly in your profile page ( (Plucked, Bowed, etc…).

By doing this, you allow your future customers to discover you either through your profile or through your instruments for sale. So you have twice as much chance to interest your internet users.

So don’t forget, when you create a new page, to remember to edit the old ones to attach the new ones.

Ok, but, why don’t my different pages (profile and instruments for sale) link to each other automatically?

The majority of users of Luthiers.com expressly requested that the pages not be automatically linked to each other, as they always wished to have the choice to do so or not.

Let’s take an example:

A luthier who makes guitars has 1 page in the Plucked string listing. But, if he also makes amps, he will have a 2nd page in the Amps, Effects & Accessories listing. And, in this case, he doesn’t necessarily want to show in his Plucked page the amps available for sale… And, likewise, he doesn’t necessarily want to show in his Amps page his different guitars for sale.

We could have made all the pages of the same user link together, but since the majority of users asked us to be able to choose, we left it up to you to do as you prefer.

The RELIST or SWITCH buttons ???

For how long will my personal pages be published?

I received an email informing me that my page will expire soon, why?

Don’t worry, this email is just informative, it’s just a reminder. The full explanation can be found in the answers below ๐Ÿ˜‰

There are two buttons RELIST or SWITCH in your personal space.

The RELIST button appears only after the exact expiration date of your publication. It is accessible in your dashboard, on the My Listings page, to easily republish your page in 1 click for a new publication period : 365 days when you choose a PROFILE, PREMIUM or SPONSOR Package for a Profile Page, and, or 30, 90 or 365 days for the publication of a page dedicated to an instrument for sale depending on the package you’ve choosen.
The RELIST or SWITCH button allows you to republish your personal page a few days before the exact expiration date of your publication period. So, if you want to republish your page as soon as you receive your first notification email (3 days before the expiration date), you can do it with this RELIST or SWITCH button.
Note that this RELIST or SWITCH button also allows you to upgrade your package. For example to change from a PROFILE package to a PREMIUM or SPONSOR package. Be careful, however, in this case you lose the advantage of your previous package, according to our Terms and Conditions. We advise you to send us an email before doing so if your expiration date is far from being over and you want to upgrade your package. The RELIST or SWITCH is only interesting for a package upgrade because no refund of the previous package will be done.

When can I relist my personal page for a new publication period?

For RELIST, we advise you to wait for the expiration date (this expiration date is visible in the page “My Listings” (under your name, at the left of the ยซ Add your page ยป button on the HomePage) on each rectangle representing your different pages.

The button “Relist”, being visible all the time, you can, as soon as you receive an email of notification, relist to start a new period of publication of 365 days.

Be sure to check your expiration date for the previous period to resubmit for a new period. ๐Ÿ˜‰

For how long will my personal pages be published?

Your personal pages will be published, and therefore visible to Internet users, for a period of time defined in the package you chose when you created them.

You can easily find the publication time in your customer area (Dashboard) in the tab / page My Listing.

In this My Listing page, below each rectangle that represents each of your pages you can see the creation date and the expiration date of each of your pages.

Don’t worry, 2 or 3 days before the expiration date expires, you will receive an email automatically to inform you that it will have to be published again. This email is just informative, it’s just a reminder.

On the expiration day, and only then, you can go to your personal space (Dashboard), in the My Listing page, and, on that day, you will see a new button appear “Relist”.

So, don’t worry, your page won’t be lost or deleted, but it will have to be re-published for users to see it appear on the world map again.

Click on the “Relist” button of the page concerned, and choose the package that suits your needs.

We invite you during the “Relist” procedure to check that the data on your page is still up to date. If it is not the case, you will be able to modify the fields that you want to keep all the informations of your page up to date.

What is the advantage of this Relist Button procedure?

It’s the only way for our Internet users (once again, they are your future customers ๐Ÿ˜‰ ), to be sure that your information is always up to date.

Indeed, let us take an example:

If you were not obliged to check your page from time to time (in our system every 30 days, 90 days, or sometimes 1 year depending on the package you choose) you could forget to check your page. Let’s imagine that you change your phone number, or your email, or why not, that you move your workshop… the Internet users would not have the possibility to contact you or to visit you anymore.

This is why we have decided to make this verification mandatory at regular intervals (in our system every 30 days, 30 days, or sometimes 1 year depending on the package you choose).

The goal of Luthiers.com is to become a reliable, up-to-date tool that will serve both the Internet users who need you, as well as you who are looking to develop your notoriety and your customer network.

So, this whole system “Relist” is made for the good and pleasure of all. But, also, for Luthiers.com to be the most practical tool in the world of luthiers.

This decision was taken following a simple observation after more than 10 years of experience in website creation.

Generally, when you make your website (in this case, your personal page), you think about it, you focus on the best way to present your activity. Then, you put it online. Then, after, you go back to your activity, you take care of your core business. And, therefore, you forget to update your website, which already took you some time. And, day after day, the information on your website (your personal pages) becomes obsolete.

For this reason, it is necessary that you regularly return to your personal pages so that your Internet users, who are your customers, always have the right information. It would be really annoying if someone can’t contact you anymore because you changed your email address and forgot to update it… so, you might as well check your personal pages from time to time ๐Ÿ˜‰

Is it possible to publish a page for life?

No, sorry. Luthiers.com invites professionals to check their pages at regular intervals (in our system every 30 days, 6 months, or sometimes 1 year depending on the packages that you have chosen) so that the website remains permanently up to date for the comfort of your future customers. You can read the questions above to understand everything.

How can I technically relist?

To relist, it’s very simple.

You log in to your account (Sign in)
Once connected your name appears in the top right corner of the screen
Hover your name with your mouse or trackpad of your computer
A personal menu appears

IMPORTANT ! If you have not filled in all the billing information and/or you have not validated the checkout page correctly, do not forget to check in the shopping cart (icon on the top right of the screen) to return to the checkout page and complete your checkout properly so that your page can be published.

Do not hesitate if you need more help. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I tried to RELIST but now I can’t find my page… Where can I find it?

Don’t worry, your page hasn’t disappeared ๐Ÿ˜‰

You started to RELIST and, when choosing your package, you were redirected to the checkout page

If, however, you went back, without completing the checkout information, your personal page is in ” pending payment ” status

To find it easily 2 possibilities :

1) check the shopping cart icon (top right of the screen), normally you have a small number 1 displayed next to the shopping cart icon. In this case, click on the cart icon, and click again on the Checkout button to finalize the checkout by filling in your billing information.

In this drop down menu you have, towards the bottom of this menu, the words “Pending Payment”, click on it
You arrive on a page that allows you to find your page, with a “Resume submission” button
Click on this button “Resume submission”, it will allow you to come back to your choice of package and to start the RELIST procedure again.

Do not hesitate if you need more help. ๐Ÿ˜‰
