Description of this instrument for sale
The mellow and warm sound of the archtop guitar is very popular in the Jazz and Blues world.
Although in its begginigs it was considered an acoustic guitar, from the middle of the 20th century it began to be sold as an electro-acoustic one with steel strings and a peculiar curved shape in its top.
To build it, maple is the main wood used for the sides and backs, following the classical string instruments style. For the top, most luthiers use spruce but there are some others that prefer plywood, even on high-end instruments.
On our catalogue you will find both Spruce and Maple, but also other Woods as Sycamore, Purple heart, Ebony or Mexican Granadillo.
