A Legacy of Quality: Lorenzo Frignani’s Guitars and Stringed Instruments
Lorenzo Frignani is a highly skilled luthier with over 30 years of experience in the craft. He graduated from the Gubbio(Perugia) school of lutherie in Italy and continued his studies at the Parma School with the M° Scrollavezza Renato.
Before privately in Bologna with the M° Bignami Otello.
He is talented with both stringed and plucked instruments, which is quite unique.
In his training with plucked instruments he followed an independent training, thanks to the fact that he played the classical guitar. However he has benn inspired by both the nineteenth-century building school and the Spanish one and in particular by authors such as Manuel Ramirez and Enrique Garcia.
After completing his studies, he established his workshop in Parma, where he builds top-quality instruments using high-quality materials such as rare and first class woods . He has also developed his own manufacturing method to ensure a personal sound quality on the instruments he makes. He’s not only specialized in the construction of guitars, but also in violins, violas and cellos using the traditional methods of the Italian school.
In addition to building new instruments, he also offers professional restorations and adjustments of antique guitars, which has earned him a great reputation among professional and amateur musicians. He is highly sought after for his expertise in preserving the historical integrity of these instruments while improving their sound and playability. He has also been a teacher in the lutherie school of Pieve di Cento (Bologna), where he shared his knowledge and experience with students for 13 years.
