There is a huge selection of aftermarket parts. What impact can the weight of the Tuning Machines have when designing a guitar?
The incidence will be obvious with the instrument in the upright position with a strap.
If there is too much weight on the head, the neck will tilt slightly when released.
It’s not huge either, but it can be a problem for some musicians. So you have to be able to deal with this kind of problem.
In general, the manufacturers I work with make Tuning Machines parts that are relatively light.
It’s a problem that we find more on the basses because the neck is longer. It’s a question of physics! 😉

Il existe un énorme choix de pièces aftermarket. Quelle incidence peut avoir le poids des mécaniques lors de la conception d’une guitare ?
L’incidence sera flagrante avec l’instrument en position debout avec sangle.
En effet, le fait d’avoir trop de poids sur la tête fera basculer le manche lorsqu’on le lâche.
Ce n’est pas non plus énorme, mais, ça peut gêner certains musiciens. Il faut donc pouvoir répondre à ce genre de problème.
En général, les fabricants avec qui je travaille fabriquent des mécaniques qui sont relativement légères.
C’est un problème que l’on retrouve plus sur les basses car le manche est plus long. Question de physique ! 😉
