Maderas Barber Reforestation Project – A planted tree for every order
Just as your read, Maderas Barber plants a tree for every received order involving all its customers in its reforestation project in collaboration with Tree-Nation. To date, they have planted over 6000 trees, covering 5.82 hectares and capturing 809.25 tons of CO2. This initiative significantly benefits the nature and strengthens Maderas Barber commitment to environmental preservation. In this interview, Jose Luis Vizcaino, Maderas Barber’s General Manager shares all the details about this beautiful sustainability project.
We’ve been dedicated to tonewood for musical instruments for over 67 years, and it has driven us to strengthen our commitment to the environment. We’re taking it a step further by partnering with Tree-Nation to help reforest the planet.
The notion of planting a tree for each of our orders seemed to be a simple and ingenious method to replenish forests, offset our CO2 emissions, and aid in the fight against climate change.
The decision to embark on this initiative with Tree Nation, the world’s foremost tree planting platform, was unquestionably the right choice.
The process of the project is very simple and follows these three steps:
We seek to restore natural resources and replant forests, reflecting our responsibility to sustainability and the well-being of the planet.
By taking this step for environmental conservation, we want to contribute to the restoration of different ecosystems, express our gratitude to nature, raise awareness and involve our customers in this cause.
Since the beginning of the project in June 2023, we have planted over 6,000 trees, which means 5.82 reforested hectares and 809.25 captured tons of CO2.
In addition, to offset our website’s CO2 emissions, we have included the Net Zero Seal on our site, which tracks these emissions and automatically plants trees to offset them.
This action is important to us because it allows us to contribute to reduce air pollution around the world.
Each planted tree belongs to a project located in different parts of the world, and aims to curb environmental impact and contribute to greater environmental protection.
Maderas Barber is actively involved in seven reforestation projects situated across various regions of the tropical belt, aiding in the battle against climate change from multiple angles.
The tropical zone stands out as the optimal location for combating climate change and deforestation. Here, trees receive abundant sunlight and absorb CO2 at a rapid pace.
Moreover, tropical forests harbor approximately 85% of all terrestrial species.
The species vary depending on availability, but each year we plant up to 14 different species across the 7 projects we’re involved in.
Diversity of species is a key point to improve soil fertility, increase soil nutrients and fix nitrogen from the air into the soil.
This creates optimal conditions for the growth of all species and promotes greater biodiversity in the area.
Every customer, through their individual profile on the Tree Nation platform, can explore various reforestation projects, pick their favorite, select the species and quantity of trees they wish to plant, and that’s all it takes!
With just a few clicks and a modest investment, you’ll have made a meaningful contribution to reforesting the planet.
All the trees you plant will be listed in your profile, along with details like the species and location of each tree.
