We’re very lucky in Tasmanian with our varied range of species, each so unique!
Some of the species utilised for Tonewood are :
- Myrtle,
- Blackheart Sassafras,
- Huon Pine,
- King Billy Pine,
- and Celery Top Pine.
Also the very popular Tasmanian Blackwood which is an Acacia and closely related to another Acacia; the famous Hawaiian Koa, sharing nearly identical physical and tonal properties.
All of our timbers are sourced with a great respect to the environment.
They are often salvaged from burn piles or recycled making our Tonewood products truly sustainable.
